Information and Directions for Use
Spit Shine is a high quality, high density acrylic polymer. When applied, Spit Shine bonds to the deice boots providing them with a tough flexible coating that does the following things:
- Seals out oxygen which causes oxidation of the boots.
- Seals out ozone which is very detrimental to the boots.
- Shields the boots from ultraviolet rays of the sun.
- Seals out fuel that may be spilled on the boots during fueling, protecting the boots from the drying effects of the fuel.
- Seals in the natural solvents of the rubber so the boots stay soft and pliable for a much longer time.
- Dries to a brilliant shine that adds beauty to your aircraft's appearance.
- Pilot reports indicate that Spit Shine aids in the release of ice.
- Bugs wipe off with a damp rag.
- Spit Shine lasts a long time, 2 to 3 months with normal use.
- Spit Shine dissapates static electricity.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Spray the boot down with Spit Shine DEICE Boot Cleaner Conditioner.
- Scrub the boot with a brush or cleaning pad to remove any oxidation or other impurities from the boot.
- Rinse the boot off completely with water.
- Let boot dry completely before applying Spit Shine sealer.
- Using a towel, apply a thin coat of Spit Shine DEICE Boot Sealer and Dressing to the boot in a single wiping motion.
- Let boot dry, then apply a second light coat.
- If any Spit Shine gets on a painted surface, merely wipe it off with a damp rag.
- A fresh coat may be applied at any time by simply wetting a towel with Spit Shine sealer and wiping it on.
- Each 3 to 4 months completely remove all the Spit Shine from the boots before adding more. This will eliminate excessive build-up.
